The Ravenshoe/Mt Garnet Rifle Club shoots competitions every Sunday (9am muster for 9.30am start) at the Ravenshoe Shooting Complex located on Cemetery Road in Ravenshoe. Competitions are shot at distances of 300, 400, 500, 600 yards and 700 & 800 meters with one distance shot each week. We shoot several categories of rifles: Target Rifle, F Standard, F Open, F/TR and Sporting-Hunting. The Club welcomes everyone who would like to come and try our sport. Ravenshoe/Mt Garnet Prize Meeting - 1 October 2017

Twenty-four shooters from Mossman to Bowen and the Tablelands gathered in Ravenshoe for the Club Annual Prize Meeting. The shoot was competed over three ranges: 500yds and double 600yds. The day started with light winds at the 500yds, but things got more challenging at 600yds with heavy mirage settling in due the sunny and hot conditions. Congratulations to the winners: TR1 – M. Beecham (Mareeba) 148.10; TR2 – S. Durham (Mareeba) 144.9; FS1 - J. Blomfield (Bowen) 172.10 after a shoot off with M. Wilson (Ravenshoe); FS2 – R. Harvey (Cairns) 173.10; T. Armstrong (Cairns) 177.15; F/TR – B. Gianasi (Ravenshoe) 173.10. A BIG THANKS TO RAVENSHOE HARDWARE FOR SPONSORING PRIZES.
