The Ravenshoe/Mt Garnet Rifle Club shoots competitions every Sunday (9am muster for 9.30am start) at the Ravenshoe Shooting Complex located on Cemetery Road in Ravenshoe. Competitions are shot at distances of 300, 400, 500, 600 yards and 700 & 800 meters with one distance shot each week. We shoot several categories of rifles: Target Rifle, F Standard, F Open, F/TR and Sporting-Hunting. The Club welcomes everyone who would like to come and try our sport. Mareeba Rifle Club Annual Prize Shoot 2013

On 24 February 2013 the Mareeba Rifle Club’s Open Prize Shoot was held on a very hot, sunny day.  There was a good turn up, with 49 competitors attending (16 Target Rifle, 20 F Standard and 13 F Open shooters), shooting 300, 500 and 600 yards. 
Our Ravenshoe competitors, as ever, were in the mix, with Jason Kuchel 2nd at 300 yards, 1st at 500 yards and 4th overall agreggate in Target Rifle A.  Peter Burg was 1st at 300 yards in F -Open.  In F Standard A Richard Butt was 1st at 500 yards and came 4th in the Aggregate. Kevin Chatfield got most centres in F Standard. In F Standard B Kevin Randolph excelled  with a 1st at 500 yards, 1st at 600 yards and 1st aggregate – WELL DONE KEV!  Liz Wilson got 1st at 300 yards and 2nd aggregate in FS B.
Mareeba Rifle Club put on a great day and catered admirably for all shooters present. Thank you to President Mark Beecham and your hard-working team for putting on a great prize shoot, and Barry Ellis and helpers for the catering to feed the hungry hoardes.  We hope to attend many more friendly shoots at Mareeba and strongly encourage all local shooters to participate.
